Insecurity Update: Security Measures for the Celebration of our
"Freedom"
News Analysis By

Frankly, if we get through Independence Day
without a 'terrorist' incident, it'll be a miracle. Until then, the newest
threat warning from the guys who are currently responsible for our safety
(the FBI) is of a potential nerve gas attack against American subway
systems. And you'll be pleased to know just how much more possible we've
made this nightmare, and how much safer you can feel.
KYW in Philadelphia broke the story Friday
that the FBI issued the alert to state and local law enforcement officials
- its an internal warning to cops around the nation - cautioning that
Al-Qaida supporters in the United States may use nerve gas to poison
subway systems in New York, Washington D.C. and other major cities before
or during the fourth of July.
You see, we could just do a World War II
type round up and exile, but that would be 'racist'. Ahhh. White People.
We'll just keep prosecuting gun cases so you will 'feel safer.'
Kinda makes you wonder what good the
military is doing over there when Allah's Army is still planning more
mayhem over here. According to the alert, "this activity is allegedly
intended to bring America to its knees on its Independence Day."
You'll find this pasted all over your
Saturday Morning fish wraps.
Now, how high was your anxiety level before
you heard this one? Well, last night, our President told us once again, to
get on with our lives, and so we shall. You see, subways are in BIG
CITIES.
BIG CITIES where, if you saw some Jihad
freak attempting to release their deadly toxin, you could drop him with
one or two bullets, but oops - packing heat is taboo. In fact, many of
those BIG CITIES spent the last decade trying to sue gun manufacturers.
BIG CITIES where you could just strap on a
gas mask before going to work, but those silly gas masks were only novelty
toys for those extremist, right-wing, antigovernment militia types. Nope,
if any deadly chemical is released, you can die a 'moderate, mainstream
death.' But don't forget to dial 911 before taking your last breath.
So, what's the rest of the holiday threat -
planes, trains and automobiles? We could call upon Americans to take up
arms and other defensive measures, but...
SACRAMENTO - How the west coast prepares
for terrorism: Have the California Senate Health and Human Services
Committee pass a bill to tax each bullet sold in the Golden State.
It's California, so you know we're not
kidding.
A state teetering on bankruptcy with over
$22 billion in red ink this year (state's can't print more money - yet
anyway, remember?) has been looking for any way it can to raise revenue,
disarm its population, and normalize its gun laws with that of their
southern neighbor. This way, they get to kill three birds with one stone.
Can't you just see it at the California
Checkpoint?
"Welcome to California. Do you have
any fruits or vegetables?"
"No"
"How about any guns, ammo? Inquiring
minds at the Office of Homeland Security and the California Department of
Revenue and Taxation want to know."
The Senate Health and Human Services
Committee approved the measure, but it now faces uphill fights in the
Revenue and Taxation and Constitutional Amendments committees. Actually,
slight chance of this passing - since it's an election year.
Never fear - the east coast weighs in.
In Washington it's called the Metro System,
a place that - according to the FBI, would be a prime target of Jihad Joe
wanting to bring the nation's capitol to its knees while folks are on the
train to watch fireworks. Repeating, some folks exercising their
constitutional right to keep and bear arms might stop or even be a
deterrent to such a disaster.
Good thing the U.S. Department of Justice
recently acquired a few brain cells and told the Supreme Court this month
that it believes the Second Amendment to the Constitution protects an
individual's right to possess firearms.
Tell that to Michael Freeman and Manuel
Brown.
These two folks had the unmitigated gall to
walk into a District of Columbia court, and claim they have a 'second
amendment right' (stop laughing) to carry firearms, and they should not be
prosecuted - especially with the Bush folks giving the green light on
packing heat.
But welcome to the Twilight Zone: On
Thursday, the Justice Department urged the prosecution of these two men
who were seeking dismissal of criminal charges for carrying a pistol
without a license.
Freeman and Brown say the Justice
Department's position is inconsistent with a court of appeals ruling in
the District of Columbia, where they were charged.
Forget it guys, your guns might stop a
terrorist. Go talk to commercial airline pilots about that. They should
focus on 'flying the plane'. You should focus on 'getting on with your
life'. You need not worry. The new Office of Homeland Security will take
care of you.
By the way, we'll start randomly searching
cars at those ferries, too - as if that wait wasn't long enough - as if
your fourth amendment rights meant anything.
You should be happy. Go on - live your
life as usual. Know that as you work, play and sleep, your government
is doing everything it can to make sure you're safe. A new organization is
being proposed, mixing so many alphabet soup agencies together they'll
have to invent new alphabets. They are doing this for you.
So this holiday season, as we ransack your
bags, search your cars, scan your faces, invade your political meetings,
spy on the net, tax your ammo, ban most of the public from public land,
disarm your pilots, raise your taxes, spend your social security, profile
average Americans (to make it seem fair), enforce seat belt laws, child
restraint laws, demand social security numbers from birth, declare your
children wards of the state, give mind-altering drugs to children in
school, analyze your finances, conduct open-ended spying operations, and
prepare for mandatory vaccines, please know that we only do this so you
can spend July 4th celebrating your 'freedom'.
Mavericklady comments: I
agree with J.J. - the government is stuck so far up orifices on Americans
(where they do NOT belong) that they could not find a terrorist if one was
standing right in front of them screaming "I am a terrorist." If
our borders where any more open they would not exist - and then to have
illegal aliens actually having the GALL to file lawsuits against America
because we do NOT provide water in the desert areas they illegally
enter the country thru well - I'm just going to have a wonderful 4th
of July - and you??????? |
Arrival
of the American Garrison State
The Pentagon
is proposing the creation of a four-star command to oversee federal troops
engaged in "homeland defense" activity on American soil. While
CINCH regional chiefs have long coordinated deployments overseas, none
exist for North America. Soon, however, the circle will be complete, and
the noose will be around our necks.
Supporters
defend this proposal as a way to "streamline" the command
system. We should have learned by now that making government more
efficient and effective only makes it easier for that institution to
transgress against the rights of the people.
Traditionally,
Americans have been wary of using the military for domestic law
enforcement. The 1878 Posse Cogitates Act (18 U.S.C. 1385) enshrines
this principle into law. Article One, Section Eight, Clause Twelve of the
Constitution attempts to curb the ability of the executive to wield
domestic standing armies, by stipulating that appropriations for the
military cannot be extended at any one time beyond a two-year period. Few
Americans stop to think about the Third Amendment, ostensibly still in
force, which prohibits the government from quartering soldiers in the
peoples' homes. Taken together, these laws indicate that the aversion to
standing armies is a well-established and justified part of the American
way of life.
The military
is not in our homes yet, but they are roaming about the country, and they
are in our neighborhoods. Delta Force and Night Stalker types have
terrorized a number of American communities over the years, conducting
SWAT-like "training" with live ammunition near residential
areas, including in Kingsville, Texas during the 1999 domestic program,
"Operation Last Dance."
Extensive sales of military equipment, including armored personnel
carriers and concussion grenades, to local and state police departments
have also taken place.
One must ask, is this really necessary? The answer is no. They are
preparing for War against the citizens of the United States.
On another
front, a bill re-instituting the draft made its way into Congress just
before the New Year, HR 3598 IH, the "Universal Military Training and
Service Act of 2001." The militarization of American society is
apparently of greater importance to our leaders than recognizing that the
government was not granted the authority to conscript citizens into
service, especially in light of the Thirteenth Amendment's prohibition of
involuntary servitude. From a market perspective, even the military should
realize that a draft would be contrary to its own interests. A draft would
cause military pay rates to stagnate and even plummet, since Congress
would no longer feel pressure to enact pay raises when they can just press
more people into service. This logic is lost on our leaders, however, as
they
lay the groundwork for the Garrison State.
Since 9/11,
our leaders have turned the fear of the American people into a blank check
to create a global prison camp. Should the reader suspect this an
exaggeration, consider that we may never see a blatant headline one
morning in the newspaper stating, "President Declares Police State,
End to Constitution", because that has already happened. Rather, the
only headlines heralding the coming of the American Garrison State will be
buried deep in the hindmost pages, telling us, "Pentagon Seeks
Creation of Four Star Command for North America." This is
incrementalism, where our leaders silently slip each puzzle piece into
place, one at a time, and has been quietly happening now for some 89
years. Most Americans, unfortunately, are so brain-dead, self-centered and
materialistic that they don't recognize these trends, these events even
when they are pointed out to them. They will one day win exactly what they
deserve, slavery.
Incrementalism
provides the government with plausible deniability about its end game,
making it easier for its defenders to characterize libertarian, patriot,
Christian, Militia citizens with a brain warnings as "paranoia."
Not that this necessarily implies a conscious conspiracy at work---it is a
well-known feature of any government to expand infinitely, however well
intentioned this growth might be, unless checked by the vigilance of the
people. Post 9/11, the vigilance of the people seems more scarce than
usual, as they rush to cling to a State-provided security blanket. An
interesting point here is that as the 4th Reich, the American Government,
removes more of our Constitutional and Civil rights, these same brain-dead
Americans run all about singing the National Anthem and waving their
flags! Can you say, "Reichstag Fire"?
If
you say of the coming Garrison State, "it'll never happen," ask
yourself if you can be certain of that, since history shows that many
unlikely and strange things do happen. Ask yourself what President Hillary
Rodham Clinton (SHUDDER!!) might do with her newfound powers in 2008.
Recall Lord Acton's famed quote: power corrupts, and absolute power
corrupts absolutely. Are you willing to take such risks with the precious
jewel that is this
Republic? I'm not...............

Homeland
(In)Security - The Nazi's Have Arrived
Under Pennsylvania
Governor Tom Ridge, the Homeland Security Office will coordinate 46
government agencies against terrorist suspects (that is us, by the way) in
the United States. Ridge will perform this function in conjunction with
Bush's deputy national security advisor, Army Gen. Wayne Downing.
Bush Administration
officials are still working out the "lines of authority" between
the two new positions, but it's clear that from now on, the military is
going to have a central role in domestic anti-terrorism activities.
The reason for the
military's prominence is simple: Bush wants to establish special,
extra-legal military tribunals that can try suspected terrorists without
the ordinary legal constraints of American justice. These military
tribunals apparently would have the authority to execute terrorists within
30 days of their conviction.
The Bush Administration
denied considering a national identification card system that would
empower our Big Brothers with the omnipotence required to catch terrorists
before they strike. They lied. You can be sure that some system will be
devised to enable Ridge at Homeland Security, and Downing on behalf of the
Pentagon, to keep track of every suspects every move."
The problem is that no
one has yet defined "suspect". Doesn't this seem a little
'Suspect' to you?
The Usual Suspects
During the Vietnam War,
under the CIA's Phoenix Program --which is the model for the
Homeland Security Office -- a terrorist suspect was anyone accused by one
anonymous source. Just one. The suspect was then arrested, indefinitely
detained in a CIA interrogation center, and tortured until he or she (or
in some cases children as young as twelve) confessed, informed on others,
died, or was brought before a military tribunal (such as Bush is
proposing) for disposition. I spent two years in the 5th Special Forces
Group, assigned to the Phoenix Program for six months, and what I saw was
simply murder. Period. EVERYONE accused, with the exception of but a few,
where murdered. The CIA murdered, or had murdered 50,000
Southeast Asian men, women and children. It's coming to America,
very soon.
In thousands of cases,
innocent people were imprisoned and tortured based on the word of an
anonymous informer who had a personal grudge, or was actually a Viet Cong
double agent feeding the names of loyal citizens into the Phoenix
blacklist.
At no point in the
process did suspects have access to due process or lawyers, and thus, in
1971, four US Congresspersons stated their belief that the Phoenix Program
violated that part of the Geneva Conventions guaranteeing protection to
civilians in time of war. I repeat, in time of war. What do you
think will happen to American's in time of "peace"?
But those sorts of abuses
can't happen here, during Bush's newly declared war on terrorism, right?
Yeah, right.
Symbolically, the terror
attacks of 11 September wiped the psychological slate clean. All the moral
prohibitions on the reactionary right wing have been lifted. The same
thing happened in the Fatherland after the First World War, and more
importantly after the Reichstag Fire which is exactly why it was staged --
and that is the real threat of anti-terrorism we're facing in America
today.
In the name of
anti-terrorism, all of the nation's pent-up anger and frustration over
Vietnam, and a host of other "cultural" issues, is poised to be
unleashed on the Enemy Within (a very carefully analyzed and crafted move,
by the way). And the Bush Administration and its propagandists (remember
Joseph Gobbles?) have already defined the Enemy Within in very clear
terms: "We're all Israelis now," they say, adding that,
"You're with us or you're
against us," in the declared war against (phony) terrorism. Precisely
as Hitler said in 1933.
And being "against
us" is a dangerous proposition. As noted, Bush is considering the
formation of Phoenix-style military tribunals that operate beyond due
process of law. The system was tested first in Nazi Germany, then in
Vietnam thirty years ago, and perfected in Israel on the Palestinians, and
is ready for application here and now. Frankly, it's already here, most
people just don't realize it. Yet...........
The New PsyWar
As stated twelve years
ago in the October 1989, Marine Corps Gazette (p 22-26a), Bush's New
War will be "widely dispersed and largely undefined; the distinction
between war and peace will be blurred to the vanishing point." There
will be no "definable battlefields or fronts," and the
distinction between "civilian" and "military" will
disappear. "Success will depend heavily on effectiveness in joint
operations (such as Bush proposes between Ridge at Homeland Security and
Downing at the Pentagon) as lines between responsibility and mission
become very blurred."
According to the Gazette
article, success in the New War against undefined suspects will also
depend on "psychological operations" manifest "in the form
of media/information intervention." One must be "adept at
manipulating the media to alter domestic and world opinion...." On
the psywar battlefield, "Television news may become a more powerful
operational weapon than armored divisions." If you have watched the
so-called News concerning the 'War' on terrorism, you will have noticed
this form perfected almost to an Art.
The TV "hawks"
love to blame the anti-war movement for Americas defeat in Vietnam, and
they assert in these do-or-die times that dissent promotes terrorism (
total nonsense). In terms of the psywar strategy outlined above, this is
exactly how nationalists and even pacifists became equated with terrorists
in Vietnam, and thus subject to indefinite detention and torture in an
interrogation center, and -- in the case of some 50,000 plus individuals
-- assassination under the CIA's Phoenix Program. The "Phoenix
Program"
is in America, today. Legislation passed last year gives the Bush
Administration, the Bush Crime Family actually, the right to execute
"with extreme prejudice" anyone they deem a
"terrorist" or "threat to the State". Heard this
rhetoric before? Nazi Germany ring a bell? That means that anyone who
disagrees with them, with the 'State' can be executed on the spot. No
judge, no jury, nothing. Murdered.........this is meant for people like
you and me, make no mistake about it.
The Bush Administration
claims that a war against terrorism requires different justice. The
strategy is working in Israel, but in Vietnam it turned an entire
population against its government and engendered a tragedy of epic
proportions. It will only engender the same thing here.
One
can only wonder how Americans will react if due process is abandoned
through the Office of Homeland Security, under the direction of the
Pentagon. We will be able to determine that very soon. |
